Penile Discharge: What’s Normal, What Needs Attention

A clear or whitish fluid during arousal is normal. But discharge at random times, especially with discomfort, is something to pay attention to.

What is considered normal in men: A clear or whitish fluid during sexual arousal (pre-ejaculate) is normal. It’s produced by glands to lubricate and prepare for ejaculation. Semen after ejaculation is also whitish/opaque — this is expected. What is not considered normal: Discharge outside of sexual arousal or ejaculation, especially if persistent, should be evaluated. Watch for: ⚠️ White, yellow, or green discharge from the penis when not aroused ⚠️ Burning or pain during urination ⚠️ Itching, irritation, or discomfort ⚠️ Unusual or foul smell If you’re ever unsure, don’t guess or self-diagnose. 📩 Confidential support is available when you need clarity.
